Fachbereich 8 of the University of Bremen.The Institute for Political Science (IfP) is the institutional core of political science at the University of Bremen. The IfP is responsible for coordinating course offerings for all political science degree programs. These include a variety of Bachelor's (BA) and Master's degrees (MA). Additionally, the Institute partners with the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) to offer doctoral studies programs.
Research in the field of political science is organized through a variety of institutions largely independent of the IfP, including: the Center for European Studies (CEUS), the Center for Social Policy Research (ZeS) and the Institute for Intercultural and International Studies (InIIS). Combined, these research institutions are also responsible contributors for the Collaborative Research Centre 'Transformations of the State' (Sfb 597).
